Ok so I got my 35's mounted and balanced at Discount tire the other day. I got them put on today and decided to take the Unlimited for a test drive. All was going well when I noticed a small shimmy and the steering wheel shaking a tiny bit back and forth. I thought ok, it may need a rebalance but it seems to do it intermittently. Sometimes it drives perfect and then it will start to shimmy. It does it on smooth roads and on rough roads. I am still running the stock steering and will be replacing that with Currie's HD steering on Monday. I am also still using the OEM steering stabilizer, could this be too small for the 35's and is getting over worked? It’s not bad yet but I need to figure this out. Any help would be great.

Yeah a steering stabilizer might help a bit but that only masks the issue and you want to solve it correctly! Did you change coil springs at all or add spring spacers? If so an alignment is in order as a camber change or slight toe change can cause this issue. Also if you changed your trac bar or added a bracket make sure your bolt at the axle end is super tight. That is the #1 cause for shimmy and death wobble on a jeep with coil springs! Also try and rotate your wheels to see if you have any changes. You may have not noticed this with smaller meats but bigger ones can amplify the issue! I would start by checking your toe with a tape measure. You should be within an 1/8" minimum and check the tightness on your trac bar and then see where you are.

As far as suspension the only thing that changed was I added front and rear 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers. Other then that everything else is the same as before. Could the added trac width cause a change in the Toe setting? I have checked it yet, but will when I get some time. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Did you check your toe????? It may have been off with the smaller tires and you didn't notice it!

Ok so I measured it and sure enough its 1/8" toe out. This would explain the steering wheel shimmy. I will adjust it and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions Dan. :D
