You can do it all right under the jeep. I did mine that way, and by the time I would have yanked the case, I was already done. You have access to everything you need once you pop the back half of the case off. Wish I could swing by to help. Make sure you have a heavy duty pair of snap ring pliers both the flat style and the kind with the tips. I ended up having to go out and buy a pair because I thought mine were strong enough.

I bought a heavy duty pair the other day just for this. Hope they're up to it. Do I have to use Red RTV or will the blue or black stuff work?

OK! SHE ROLLS! I got to drive her around the block last night. Still need to do the alignment, adjust the trac bar, and learn how to adjust control arms.......? She drove really well below 20mph though!

ok, Jeep's on hold for a while. We have to be out of the house in less than 2 weeks! Guess I'll just throw on the Sway bar discos, adjust the trac-bar for now and get it over to my in-laws, where she'll sit for a few weeks. DAMN!

ok, need to get this ol bird at least drivable. Any idea as to how to get the sway bar link studs out of the bracket? i thought they were just torks bolts, but upon closer inspection they're spline studs. Tried the ol BFH, with no luck. Thinking of a c-clamp and an oversized socket over the head and pushing it out. what'ya think?

Use some heat, or grind the head off if you dont need them anymore and punch them through. If it is still a sow, drill a hole through it after you cut the head off to weaken it and then chisel or punch it out. A blow torch might be enough to get the job done. Do you have an air chisel?? If you need some tools you can swing by on friday and return them on Sat. at the meeting.

ok, got the sway bar on, and the trac bar adjusted. Took it out and now it has a check engine light on and won't stay running. Only sometimes when you roll up to a stop, it just shuts off. It did it once while at a slow roll. Then shortly after that the light came on. Help!! please

Adam

Possible AIS Motor or TPS on the 4.0. Check all the connections to see if something got stretched or snagged on somthing during the lift. Also check all the vapor and fuel lines.

Have you changed pinion gear on the t-case yet? When you put the housing back in you need to make sure to rotate it so the gears mesh.

You might have to adjust your rotary lubricator since you went up in tire size which can throw your speedo nuts. Jeepin spit
